Custom Millinery Commission Guidelines

Thank you for choosing Hat Haven for your custom millinery piece. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable design process, please review the following guidelines:

Design Consultation & Deposit

A non-refundable deposit equal to 50% of the initial estimate is required before any design work or materials are ordered. This deposit secures your place in our production schedule and allows work to begin on your custom piece.

Design Process

Throughout the creation process, clients will receive progress updates, including photographs of the work as it develops. These updates provide an opportunity to review the design and ensure it is progressing according to the approved concept.

Design Revisions

Minor adjustments may be accommodated during the construction process when feasible. Examples may include small trim modifications, placement adjustments, or other changes that do not significantly alter the original design concept. Additional charges may apply depending on the scope of the requested changes.

Major Design Changes

Requests for significant changes to the approved design including, but not limited to, changes in shape, color, materials, scale, or overall style will require cancellation of the original design and the creation of a new commission. In such cases, a new estimate and a new non-refundable deposit will be required before work can resume.

Derby Season Considerations

During the Kentucky Derby season and other peak production periods, scheduling constraints may not allow sufficient time to restart a design. Clients are encouraged to carefully review and approve their design concept before construction begins, as major changes may not be possible once production is underway.

Final Payment & Shipping

The remaining balance is due in full prior to shipment or pickup. Once final payment has been received, the completed piece will be carefully packaged and shipped, or made available for pickup as arranged.

By submitting a deposit, the client acknowledges and agrees to these terms and conditions.
